Description of your booking

By booking admission to Castel Sant'Angelo, you can visit the Castle, admire its interior, and enjoy the magnificent views of Rome from its towering ramparts overlooking the Tiber.
This booking also includes a multimedia guide of the city of Rome with videos, audio, photos, descriptive texts of the main attractions of the Eternal City and the tourist highlights, the museums to visit and useful interactive modules. The TRavel App My WoWo guide can be downloaded to your mobile device in just a few clicks.
Castel Sant'Angelo was built around 123 A.D. as a mausoleum for Emperor Hadrian and his family.
Unlike other Roman-era monuments, the Castle was never reduced to ruins by being into a quarry for material to build newer buildings. It did, however, go through a number of transformations over the centuries to reach its current form.
Over its history, the Castle has served many functions: an imperial tomb, a fortified outpost, a prison, and a noble Renaissance home.
The current architectural structure has massive walls, inside of which visitors enjoy the sumptuous frescoed rooms in which the invaluable collections of paintings and artifacts are kept in addition to many temporary exhibitions put on at the Castle throughout the year.
