Castel Sant'Angelo guided tour with special openings!

The tour called the "Secret Castle" is a special event to discover the sections of Castel Sant'Angelo usually closed to visitors, mostly for security reasons. This guided tour in fact includes a visit to those most hidden places of the castle, with an internal official guide. With this tour it will therefore be possible to access, together with a small group of participants, the "secret" places of the great fortress and in particular the Historical Prisons, called Oliare where food was once stored, the Lion's Courtyard, the room called the Forno and the famous Stufetta, the personal bathroom of Pope Clement VII decorated with the beautiful frescoes of Raphael's workshop.

By booking this tour also, visitors can visit Castel Sant'Angelo, its interior and admire the splendid views of Rome from the very high ramparts overlooking the Tiber.
This entrance ticket also grants access to the National Museum of Castel Sant’Angelo housed inside the Castle.

From the date of booking until 7 days before the day of the tour, the cancellation fee is €8.00 per ticket.
From 6 days before the tour time and for no-shows (unused tickets), the cancellation fee is 100% of the amount paid, i.e. there is no right to a refund.
You may change the date and time of booking up to 7 working days before the booked date paying a €2.50 fee per ticket. After that point, the voucher may no longer be changed.
Requests of changes must always be communicated in writing by email.

Backpacks, suitcases, or large bags may not be brought in the sites.
The ticket allows you to access to each site only once.
You must go through security checks at the metal detectors. The wait for these mandatory procedures cannot be avoided.
Do not forget to bring a valid identification card or valid passport (one per person).
