Borghese Gallery Entrance Tickets

Booking your tickets online entitles you to visit the Borghese Gallery during the booked time slot.
We strongly recommended making reservations for this museum (virtually a must) because it allows entry to a limited number of visitors each time slot. Visitors must arrive 30 minutes before the booked time.

Visitors can tour the museum for about two hours. After that time is up, visitors will be requested to leave the museum to make room for those in the next time slot.

Gallery Borghese is a major museum in Rome, set in Villa Borghese "outside of Porta Pinciana." This beautiful villa was originally owned by the Borghese family, which gradually added land to form a vast park. The Borghese family, originally from Siena, rose rapidly in the Roman milieu, culminating in the election of Camillo (1605-1621) as Pope Paul V, launching a great era of urban projects and extraordinary collecting. Construction started on Villa Borghese in 1607, and after 1770, the Villa underwent a radical renovation of its decorations. In the new design, the architect Asprucci arranged the great masterpieces of ancient sculpture, and Bernini's Apollo and Daphne sculpture, using a new exhibition approach, placing them in the center of each room and connecting the entire decorative theme to the iconographic center point of the sculpture group. Despite the removal of archaeological sculptures of Cardinal Scipione's former collection — a result of the sale that Napoleon forced on Camillo Borghese in 1807 — and the later 19th-century additions, to this day, the decoration of the rooms reflects Antonio Asprucci's exhibition criteria.
The major works at the Borghese Gallery include: Apollo and Daphne and many other works by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Antonio Canova's famous statue of Pauline Bonaparte, Caravaggio's most famous masterpieces, including the Young Sick Bacchus, the Boy with Basket of Fruit, David with the Head of Goliath, St. John the Baptist, and St. Jerome, as well as works by Correggio, Titian, Rubens, Raphael, and many others.

From the date of booking until 7 days before the day of the tour, the cancellation fee is €8.00 per ticket.
From 6 days before the tour time and for no-shows (unused tickets), the cancellation fee is 100% of the amount paid, i.e. there is no right to a refund.
You may change the date and time of booking up to 7 working days before the booked date paying a €2.50 fee per ticket. After that point, the voucher may no longer be changed.
Requests of changes must always be communicated in writing by email.

The coat check is in the reception area in the museum's basement.
You must go through security checks at the metal detectors. The wait for these mandatory procedures cannot be avoided. It is mandatory to check items such as suitcases, backpacks, strollers, trolleys, umbrellas, and other items the security staff consider dangerous or too bulky.
The ticket allows you to access to museums only once.
Do not forget to bring a valid identification card or valid passport (one per person).
It is also forbidden to enter the museum with food, drinks (including water) and pets (except for guide dogs).
The audio guide service is in the reception area in the museum's basement. Available in Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish. The cost of the audio guide is €5.00 in addition to the ticket cost.
