Description of your booking

This tour lasts about 3 hours.
Discover the masterpieces of Caravaggio accompanied by an official and expert guide of the Caravaggesque material. A tour outside the classic museum route, to admire 6 large paintings by Caravaggio preserved in 3 different Roman churches. Four masterpieces that often remain outside the itineraries most commonly offered by tour operators.
The first two paintings are kept in the Church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Piazza del Popolo. The paintings are the Conversion of Saint Paul and the Martyrdom of Saint Peter. The route continues on foot (about 10 minutes) towards the Church of Sant'Agostino where the Madonna dei Pellegrini is located instead. The last stop, just two minutes on foot, is the church of San Luigi dei Francesi where you can admire the splendid Triptych of the Conversion of San Matteo.
This tour is also an opportunity to get closer to the art of Caravaggio for those who still do not know it thoroughly. The tour in fact includes, in addition to the commentary on the works included, also a broad introduction on the artist, his life, his art and his relationship with the greats of his time. Around the world, Caravaggio's paintings are just over 70. Many of his works are in Rome, where the artist has spent part of his life, some preserved in the Borghese Gallery, the Vatican Museums and Palazzo Barberini. But 4 large paintings, true masterpieces of the master, are kept in 3 different places in Rome just a kilometer far away one from each other. So an opportunity not to be missed for Caravaggio lovers!
The route can be customized to the wishes and needs of visitors, adapting it to requests, such as for families with children, visitors with particular interests, or those with difficulties walking long distances. Your guide will handle all entry procedures.
